Angola
Angola has been closed for
several years and has just recently opened up to safari
hunting.
Roger Whittal, a well known long
time safari operator from Zimbabwe has secured a several
million acre concession in the southeastern corner of Angola
abutting the Luiana National Park.
This area abuts the famous
Caprivi strip in Namibia. The hunting area falls between the
Cuando River to the east and the Luiana River to the west.
Roger has been spending some
time in Angola and is seeing cape buffalo, elephant and
plains game species in good numbers. This area also holds a
good population of Roan and the flood plains created by the
rivers hold good sitatunga and some other species unique to
this area.
It's important to bear in mind
that this is a recently opened area and the first few
hunters going on safari into Angola should be adventurers
and explorers at heart.
