Busy End of Season

Normally when this time of year rolls around our focus is on making all the arrangements for the next season. This year brought us an unexpected bonus when the operators of Matetsi Unit 1 contacted us to let us know they had a few elephant, sable and other species still available for 2010.

We put this out there to our newsletter subscribers and a couple from New Zealand pounced on the deal. Within two weeks of receiving our newsletter they were on the ground with PH Scott Guthrie of Zindele Safaris stalking elephant.

They focused on elephant for the initial part of the hunt and managed to take a nice bull on day six. This left four more days of full hunting to see what they could manage to find. Manage they did. Scott put them on a hyena, impala, nice buffalo bull and a magnificent sable. Truly Matetsi unit one is blessed to have an abundance of quality game with some of the finest sable in all of Africa. Our congratulations to Stuart and Judith as well as PH Scott Guthrie on a wonderful and successful safari.

2011  Safari Availability

We have been hunting and arranging safaris in Africa since 1996 and are privileged to have the opportunity to work with some of the finest safari companies in Africa. Names like Mokore Safaris, Roger Whitall, and Mabal'Engwe in Zimbabwe and Mozambique. In Tanzania, Jaco Oosthuizen of  Game Trackers Africa just to name a few. This is just a partial listing of the companies we work with.

These names represent some of the best safari operators that Africa has to offer and consequently are all in high demand.

We still have a good number of safaris available in 2011 for elephant, buffalo, and plainsgame. We have a very limited number of leopard and lion available and by the time you read this may have none of the cats left at all.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any interest in hunting Africa or just simply want to chat.

We love to chat about Africa with fellow hunters and are always glad to share any information or advice you may need.

Thoughts and Prayers for

Jaco Oosthuizen

Jaco Oosthuizen of Game Trackers Africa is in recovery in Johannesburg after being attacked by a wounded leopard. The wounded cat lunged at him from the bush at under five yards and he managed to get off a shot that was eventually proved fatal. Before the cat died it tore part of Jaco's bicep muscle off and inflicted several severe lacerations. Surgeons were able to reattach the muscle but he is having some difficulties with infection from the lacerations inflicted by the cat.

Let's all keep Jaco in our thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery. We are trusting he will heal up to the point where he can visit us here in the States this winter as he does each year.
